Koroneiki Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil for salad dressings, pasta and drizzling
Our produce is made from the Koroneiki olives grown in the Peloponnese where our Olive Grove is in Kalamata. This year’s crop, picked in November 2019, has produced the best quality we have had in years, it is not an eating olive, just pressed for oil and it is this olive that produces the best oil in the world.
We have 33 olive trees which produced 14 sacks and eventually after settlement 100 litres of oil. With 5 people picking the olives, it took them 7 hours to harvest the Grove and we went up to the press at 6.00 pm that evening to see the olives being pressed within a couple of hours of picking !!
We do not spray our olive trees and the olives are hand-picked. As a result the oil is peppery, grassy and rich in flavour.
It is first cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, in order to qualify it has to have water added at temperatures of less than 30c and preferably lower than 27c before the oil and water are separated. This oil was separated at 26c. Additionally it has to have an acidity level no greater than 0.8%, this oil tested as 0.25% or less.
