To raise funds for our current projects As Wild As will during the month of October 2016 be swimming the English Channel, not in the conventional way or at the conventional distance and with no regard for EU Policy or Protocol !
To celebrate the charities new location in Ventnor, Isle of Wight as well as our Rickmansworth, Herts base, As Wild As will swim the distance from Ventnor to Cherbourg a distance of 79 miles or 127 kilometres depending on whether you are in or out of Europe. Challenging it may be, we are going to make it a little easier by doing it in a pool at our leisure with myself and volunteer fundraisers swimming lengths until we get to the other side. I estimate that’s around 5080 lengths of a normal 25 metre pool.
Starting 1st October we will be monitoring progress and swimming until we reach Cherbourg, if you would like to either participate or be a sponsor this is how you can do it.
