As Wild As was honoured to be invited to attend the most recent meeting of the African Lion Working Group in Kasane, Botswana from 21st to 23rd March 2016. The meeting was attended by over 80 experts, scientists, researchers, conservationists and specialists from the field of Big Cat Conservation, a group that has for over 15 years been dedicated to the conservation of the African Lion.
Over the three days of the conference such topics as
prioritising landscapes for lions,
addressing encroachment of lion habitat,
best achieving lion/human coexistence,
a lion database,
improving funding and management of lion conservation efforts
were discussed , in addition to invaluable networking with other teams and members from over 15 African countries involved in various different and enterprising work all in the name of animal, specifically Lion Conservation.
As Wild As has made valuable inroads into other projects and needs from many of these projects and diverse work which we will be following up and adding to our funding and campaigning work.
