Swimming for Lions is over , or at least for this year. It was a great effort and a much tougher task than anticipated. We started off slowly and there was a concern that we would leave ourselves stranded out in the channel. But, in the end not only did we cross the channel once, but we swam back too, having resorted to the shorter route of Dover to Calais and then back to Dover.
So after 5 weeks, 42 miles ( 66 Kilometres) and 2,640 lengths we have completed the task and raised much needed money , the final total will be in shortly. All the donations and money raised will go towards new uniforms, boots and hats for the Anti-Poaching and Rangers teams at Ndumo Game Reserve, South Africa.
Pictures to follow, see our projects page.
Extra special mentions for Mandy Davis, Lin Davis, Annie Coster, Phil and Wendy Harrington for their contributions and all that donated or sponsored.
All being well we will run a similar event next October 2017 so keep in touch.
